Hail on gutter coil
Aluminum shows hail as dents across the face and the top of the trough. Adjusters read that dent pattern as evidence of hail size, so the gutters often help prove the roof damage on the same house.

A limb bends a run, wind folds an end cap, and hail dents the face until the metal reads like a golf ball. Damaged gutters stop moving water away and start moving it into your foundation.
A gutter does one job, keeping several thousand gallons a year off your foundation, and a storm only has to break one hanger or crush one downspout to stop it.
After a storm we look at the whole system, not just the piece you can see is bent. Pulled hangers change the slope so the run holds water, a folded downspout backs the trough up, and a torn miter drips straight down the corner of the house. We photograph the damage with measurements so it can go on a claim beside the roof, since the two almost always travel together.

Falling limbs crush runs and rip sections off the fascia, taking hanger screws and sometimes chunks of the fascia board with them. We repair the wood before anything gets rehung.
If a run has to be replaced we size it for the Virginia design rainfall of 6.5 inches per hour rather than matching whatever undersized profile happened to be there when the storm hit.
Gutter damage is the part of a storm claim that gets underpaid most often, usually because nobody documented it properly before the repair happened. Here is the walk we do.
Four questions. You get a straight read on whether this is a repair, a replacement, a gutter job or an insurance claim, and where to go next.
We cover Northern Virginia and the Fredericksburg area out of two offices. Search for your town, or pick it off the list to see the map and the local page.
No match in our service area. Call (703) 347-6482 anyway, we travel for larger jobs.
We get on the roof and photograph what we find before we quote. You see the same evidence we do.

Storm damage to gutters is often covered, especially filed with roof damage from the same event. Wear, sagging from clogs and rot from years of overflow are not storm damage, and a good adjuster will separate them. We tell you which bucket your damage falls into before you call.
Usually. Most homes here have K style aluminum in a standard size and color, and we run seamless on site. Older copper, half round or steel systems are a different conversation, and we will not put mismatched metal against them because dissimilar metals corrode where they touch.
Yes, always. Anything with enough force to bend a gutter usually scraped shingles, bent the drip edge, or knocked granules loose on the way down. We inspect both together, because filing for a gutter and finding roof damage a month later is a much harder conversation with your carrier.
We deal with active water intrusion first. A hanging run that could fall on somebody gets secured on the same visit. Full replacement is scheduled once material is confirmed, and we give you the real timeline instead of promising you tomorrow.
Ask for a Virginia license number you can look up at DPOR, and a workers comp certificate carrying the sheet metal class code. If they offer to cover your deductible, that is insurance fraud in Virginia and your name goes on it. And never sign an assignment of benefits.
Every town we cover has its own page with local detail. Pick yours.
A seamless run, a new downspout or a re-pitched trough still fills with leaves, seed pods and shingle grit. Cleaned on a schedule, gutters drain the way they were built to. Every visit we clear each trough by hand, flush every downspout and check the hangers and pitch. We don’t install gutter guards. See why.
Call after the storm and we will inspect the gutters, downspouts and roof edge together, document everything for your claim, and give you a written estimate at no cost.
Tell us what you are seeing and we will get back to you to set a time.
